The beloved Newspaper Club here at CHS was named after Mrs. Anne Scott. But, have you ever wondered, Who was she? Or Why was the newspaper club named after her? Anne Drew was the principal of Carteret High School from 1923-1946. She was remembered as a “wise, tolerant, far-sighted, leader”, who was not only an “inspiring and understanding teacher”. She was also a “generous, and loyal friend”. The staff and students learn from her, and strive to be like her. And for this, Anne Scott News was born. May she rest in peace, be remembered, and be recognized for her service at Carteret High School.
